Who this is for

You are the son or daughter, the spouse, the sister, the old friend. The service is in a few days. Someone has asked you to say a few words, or handed you the obituary to write, and you have never done either. You do not need to know how a eulogy is built or the order a newspaper expects the survivors in. You need to sit down for fifteen minutes, answer the questions a good writer would ask you, and have every piece ready to print.

What is inside

Eleven sections, written from your answers, in one kit.

  1. Read this first. A checklist of every name, date, age and place the kit uses, next to how you typed it.
  2. The eulogy. At the length you chose, in five beats, with pause marks where you will need them.
  3. Cue cards. Six to eight numbered cards with the first sentence of each beat, so you can look up.
  4. The two-minute version. For the graveside, a second speaker, or when the family asks you to keep it short.
  5. Alternative openings and closings. Two of each, so you can swap without asking for a rewrite.
  6. The obituary and notices. In the form funeral homes and newspapers expect, plus a 60-word notice and a 25-word death notice.
  7. Service words. A short program blurb and a paragraph of thanks to close the service.
  8. Three readings. Chosen for your tradition and tone from a library of public-domain texts, with the full text where we may print it.
  9. Delivery guide. What to do when your voice goes, where to look, who reads if you cannot finish, and a two-day rehearsal plan.
  10. Three thank-you notes. For flowers or a donation, for those who came or helped, and for the care staff.
  11. What we left out. The subjects you asked us to avoid, listed so you can see the boundaries were kept, and a six-item check before the service.

How it works

  1. Answer 24 questions. About fifteen minutes. Your answers are saved in your browser as you go, so you can stop and come back.
  2. Pay $39 with a card or Link. No account, no password. Stripe handles the payment and sends the receipt.
  3. Read, print or download. The kit arrives at a private link about three minutes later. Two rewrites are included.

Why not just use a chatbot

A chatbot will write a eulogy if you ask it to. What it will not do is ask you the questions you would not think to ask yourself: which three qualities, and which story shows each one; how you want the passing described; who survives them, in the order the newspaper expects. It does not know the obituary conventions funeral homes use, will not choose readings from your tradition, and will not tell you what to do when your voice goes. Eulogy Kit does all of this in one pass, at 16-point print size, and then leaves you alone with it.

Privacy in plain words

No account, and no email from us. Your answers and the finished kit are stored as notes on your payment record at Stripe, the company that processes the payment, and are visible only through your private link. The text is sent once to Anthropic, whose model writes the kit; Anthropic does not train on it. We never use your answers for anything else, and there are no analytics or third-party scripts on the interview or kit pages. Read the privacy policy.

Refund and guarantee

Full refund, no questions asked, for 7 days after your kit is delivered. The refund is a button at the bottom of your kit page and goes straight back to your card. If our system fails to produce your kit after three attempts, you are refunded automatically without asking. Read the refund policy.

Your kit lives at a private link, shown after payment and printed on your Stripe receipt. Bookmark it, and print or download the kit as soon as it arrives. We keep no email address and no account, so we cannot recover a lost link.

Questions

Can I edit it?

Yes. Every section has a copy button, the whole kit downloads as a Word file, and two rewrites are included. Tell us in a sentence or two what to change and the kit is rewritten with your note applied. Each rewrite replaces the version before it.

Which traditions does it cover?

Secular or non-religious, Christian (Protestant), Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, and mixed or other. The tradition you choose sets the closing words and which readings are offered, and nothing more. There is a free-text line for anything else we should know about the service.

Does it work outside the US?

Yes. The obituary follows the conventions used by funeral homes and newspapers in the US, the UK, Canada, Australia and Ireland. Dates and places are printed exactly as you type them. The price is in US dollars.

How long is the eulogy?

You choose 3, 5 or 7 minutes, which is about 420, 700 or 980 words at a natural speaking pace. A two-minute version is always included as well.

Is this a chatbot?

No. There is nothing to talk to and nothing to prompt. You answer a fixed set of questions once, the kit is written in a single pass, and it is delivered to a page you can print, copy or download.

What if it gets a name wrong?

It uses your spelling, exactly as typed, and never adds a fact you did not give. The first tab of the kit is a checklist of every name, date and place used, shown next to how you typed it, so you can check each one before anything is printed.

How soon does it arrive?

Usually about three minutes after payment. The page updates by itself while the kit is being written. If it takes longer, you can close the tab and come back with your link.
